Navigating internet?mediated ethnography for socio?legal researchers

As legal phenomena have become entangled with information and communication technologies, the internet in particular, it is important for socio-legal researchers to engage online-focused methodological approaches. This article contributes this need by offering an exploration of some significant theoretical problematics presented ethnographic approaches research. Drawing on literature reflections my own research experience, discusses how internet-mediated ethnography differs from other considers relationship between online ‘traditional’ ‘real-life’ ethnography. The suggests that notwithstanding its internal diversity fluid boundaries, a distinct approach research, albeit one bears ‘family resemblance’ traditional offers advantages terms flexibility, depth analysis, understanding social contexts surrounding mediated life.
